Virtual Cards Setup
Complete guide to creating and managing disposable virtual credit cards — requesting access, creating cards, loading funds, and managing your card wallet.
Overview
RelayKit Virtual Credit Cards (VCCs) are disposable VISA cards you can create instantly from your dashboard. Each card gets its own card number, CVV, and expiration date — funded directly from your RelayKit balance.
VCCs are ideal for:
- Account isolation — Use a unique card per account to prevent payment fingerprinting.
- Subscription management — Dedicate a card to each subscription. Freeze the card to stop charges.
- Anonymous purchases — Buy online without linking your personal payment info.
- Trial verifications — Sign up for free trials that require a payment method.
Getting Access
VCC access requires approval. When you first visit the Virtual Cards tab in your dashboard, you'll see a request form.
You'll receive a notification once your request has been reviewed. Once approved, the Virtual Cards tab will unlock full access to create and manage cards.
Creating a Card
Once approved, you can create cards instantly from the Virtual Cards tab.
# Example pricing Card amount: $50.00 Service fee: $2.50 (5%) Total charged: $52.50 from balance
Your card is created instantly. You'll see the full card number, CVV, and expiration date right away.
Card Details
Click any card in your list to expand it and view the full details:
- Card number — Full 16-digit VISA number
- CVV — 3-digit security code
- Expiration — Month and year
- Cardholder name — Name on the card
- Balance — Current available balance
- Status — Active or Frozen
Use the Copy Number button to copy just the card number, or Copy All to copy all card details at once for easy pasting.
Loading Funds
You can add more funds to any active card at any time.
Unloading Funds
If a card has unused balance, you can move it back to your RelayKit account.
Unloading is free — no fees are charged for returning unused funds.
Freezing & Activating Cards
Freezing a card blocks all transactions while keeping the card and its details intact.
Freezing a Card
A frozen card will decline any charge attempts. The card shows a "Frozen" badge in your list.
Reactivating a Card
To unfreeze a card, expand it and click Activate. The card returns to active status and can accept charges again.
Transaction History
Each card tracks its own transaction history. Expand a card to see the last 10 transactions, including:
- Merchant name — Where the charge was made
- Amount — Transaction amount in USD
- Type — Credit (refund) or debit (charge)
- Status — Completed, pending, or failed
- Date — When the transaction occurred
Best Practices
One Card Per Account
Create a separate card for each online account or subscription. This prevents platforms from linking your accounts through shared payment methods.
Load Only What You Need
Load the exact amount you plan to spend. If something goes wrong, your exposure is limited to the card balance. You can always load more later.
Freeze When Done
After completing a purchase or trial, freeze the card. This prevents unexpected charges and keeps your unused balance safe.
Pair With Proxies
For maximum isolation, use a different RelayKit proxy location with each card. This ensures both your IP and payment method are unique per account.
Troubleshooting
Card declined
- Check that the card has sufficient balance for the purchase amount.
- Make sure the card is not frozen — frozen cards decline all transactions.
- Some merchants may not accept prepaid or virtual cards. Try a different merchant.
Card details not showing
- Expand the card by clicking on it in your card list.
- If details are still missing, try refreshing the page.
Balance doesn't match expected amount
- Check the transaction history for any pending or unexpected charges.
- Some merchants place temporary authorization holds that may reduce your available balance.
